Seeley calls for review of special pre-school provision

9 June, 2016 - by Catherine Seeley

Sinn Féin MLA Catherine Seeley, has called on the department of education to action a review in order to maximise special pre-school provision.

Catherine Seeley said:

“While I fully understand and appreciate that demand has increased for special pre-school provision this should remain a priority for the department given the long-term benefits to the child and wider society.

“Research clearly demonstrates the impact of early years education, particularly on our most vulnerable.

“Such an effective approach to early years will contribute strongly to promoting and upholding children’s rights as defined in the UNCRC.

“I am asking the department to action a review in order to maximise special pre-school provision.” ENDS/CRÍOCH
