Dublin Sinn Féin highlighting hospital crisis through protest
Sinn Féin TD and Health spokesperson Louise O’Reilly has said that when it comes to health, the Programme for Government is high in aspiration and light on detail.
With the crisis in our health service showing no sign of improvement, Sinn Féin activists will protest tomorrow (Saturday) at 2pm outside six Dublin Hospitals.
The Fingal TD said:
“The Minister for Health needs to take urgent action to address the growing waiting lists and the crisis in our A&Es. The Minister has repeatedly stated that there is no recruitment ban where hospitals have resources to recruit but he knows that our hospitals are underfunded and under resourced.
“We need to stop training our nurses and doctors for export. The Programme for Government is high in aspiration and light on detail.
“Next Thursday we will be debating the Health Estimates in the Dáil and the Minister will have an opportunity to show how serious he is about addressing this crisis.”
Note: Tomorrow from 2.00 pm - 3.00pm Dublin Sinn Féin will stage a protest outside six major hospitals in Dublin; Connolly, Beaumont, Mater, St James, St. Vincent’s, and Tallaght.
