Emergency motion on Moore St for City Council – Cllr Mícheál Mac Donncha
Sinn Féin has tabled an emergency motion for tonight's Dublin City Council meeting following last week's statement from Council planning management that the Chartered Land planning permission may be extended when it expires in 2017.
Cllr Mícheál Mac Donncha said:
"Our motion says the City Council views with grave concern the indication from Council management that extension of planning permission may be granted for the proposed 'Dublin Central' Chartered Land Development on the 1916 battlefield site, including the National Monument as recently defined in the High Court judgement.
"We are requesting that such extension of planning permission not be granted as it would clearly be in breach of the High Court judgement on the extent and importance of the 1916 battlefield site.
"We are also very concerned at reports that the Government is to appeal the High Court judgement."
