Campbell signs Book of Condolence for Orlando shooting victims
Sinn Féin councillor Mary Ellen Campbell was among the first signatories of the Book of Condolence opened at the City Hall in Belfast for the victims of the shootings in Orlando, Florida.
The book will be open for members of the public to sign during normal City Hall opening hours.
Mary Ellen Campbell said:
“The Book of Condolence is a way for the citizens of Belfast to show support for the families and friends of those killed and those who were injured in the attack on the Pulse Club in Orlando.
“This was a senseless act of slaughter directed at the LGBT community and it’s important that we show our support for that community at this time.
“Tonight the lights around Belfast City Hall will be lit in the rainbow colours in a show of solidarity with all the victims of this mindless act."
