Brexit would be bad for the community sector - Anderson
Sinn Féin MEP Martina Anderson has said a vote to leave the European Union would be bad for communities here.
Ms Anderson said;
"I met with representatives from a range of community groups in Derry this morning to discuss the impact a Brexit would have on communities here.
"It is clear there are serious concerns among those involved in the community and voluntary sector that they will be dragged out of the EU by narrow-minded Tories committed to austerity.
"Of course we have concerns about the EU and we want to see serious reform but that will not be achieved by leaving the EU.
"Communities here have been strengthened and encouraged through successive EU funding programmes, including PEACE, SEUPB and Interreg.
"I have absolutely no faith that the British government would replace such funding in the event of a vote to leave the EU.
"That is why Sinn Féin is campaigning for people to come on out Thursday, June 23 to Put Ireland First and vote remain."
