Adams appeals for Remain vote

20 June, 2016 - by Gerry Adams

Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams TD has called for voters to come out and vote Remain on Thursday.

Speaking at Stormont today, Mr Adams said;

"Sinn Féin is very critical about the democratic deficit in the EU. But Brexit will be bad for the economy on this island, bad for business and investment, bad for farmers, bad for the environment, bad for workers’ and human rights.

"We don't want to see the return of border checkpoints between the north and south or restrictions on trade.

"The latest polls indicate that the referendum is very close so every vote counts.

"We are calling for voters in the north to come out and vote Remain."
