Ní Chuilín calls for threats against workers to be lifted
Sinn Féin MLA Carál Ní Chuilín has said threats against workers carrying our maintenance work on housing in the New Lodge area should be lifted immediately.
The North Belfast MLA said;
"I totally and absolutely condemn these cowardly threats against Housing Executive staff and contractors working on the Seven Towers in the New Lodge area.
"These workers are carrying our much-needed maintenance work on social housing and should be allowed to go about their business without fear of threats or intimidation.
"These threats have led to work being stopped which means residents are being kept in fuel poverty by the actions of those responsible.
"Those behind these threats do not have the support of the local area and in fact at war with the community.
"I am calling for the threats to be lifted immediately so that these workers can get back to work."
