At long last, contractor appointed to Gaelscoil Bhaile Munna – Reilly
Dublin City Councillor Noeleen Reilly has welcomed the news that McAleer & Teague Limited has been appointed for the construction of a new twelve classroom primary school and associated site works for Gaelscoil Bhaile Munna, in Coultry.
Speaking from Ballymun today, she said:
“At long last, parents and children can breathe a sigh of relief as the contractor has been appointed to build the new Gaelscoil Bhaile Munna.
“It has taken over 24 years of campaigning from the local community for a new school but finally works are due to commence on 11th July 2016.
“It feels like we have been waiting forever for this news as we have had many false starts.
“Currently, children have no hall and there is just a small area for children. The new school building will comprise of not only 12 classrooms, but also proposed are 19 on-site car parking spaces 60 cycle spaces, new hard play areas, bin enclosure and 2 basketball courts, all to the side and rear of the new school building.
“This is a great school and, unfortunately, teachers and students have operated in substandard conditions for decades.
“The new building can only add to the achievements of children in the area and I look forward to see it opening when works are completed in approximately 15 months.”
