Extension to St Michael’s Special National School Welcome – Reilly
Dublin City Council Noeleen Reilly has welcomed the news that Planning Permission has been granted to St Michael’s House, Special National School in Glasnevin.
Speaking today, Cllr Reilly said,
“I am delighted that Dublin City Council has granted planning permission on 29th June to St Michael’s House for works to extend the school.
“These include demolition of the existing prefabricated units, boiler house and storage out building and will construct a new single storey extension to three separate areas of the existing school building.
“There will also be additional ramps, car parking spaces and a resurfacing of the existing traffic circulatory route.
“The school is a god send in the area for many families and, unfortunately, like other schools across Dublin, students have been taught in some dire conditions.
“I welcome this news and I hope the tender process is not too lengthy and works can commence in the very near future.
“It is expected to cost around €820,000, which is a very positive investment in the school after years of cuts to budgets from the Department Education.”
