Leaving the EU would hamper investment - Murphy

7 July, 2016 - by Conor Murphy

Sinn Féin MLA Conor Murphy has said that Brexit would have a detrimental impact on efforts to attract jobs and investment to the North.

Mr Murphy said;

"It is concerning that a US investment conference which was planned for Belfast and Derry in October has been cancelled as a result of the EU referendum.

"Executive ministers travel the world attracting investment and jobs to the North and they have been successful in marketing the North as a gateway to Europe.

"It simply does not make sense to close that door.

"There is no doubt that being dragged out of the EU by Britain will hamper efforts to attract much-needed jobs and investment.”
