Housing needs assessment for 2016 now available – Reilly

7 July, 2016

Dublin City Councillor Noeleen Reilly is calling on all applicants on the housing waiting list to fill in the housing needs assessment questionnaire sent out by Dublin City Council.

Speaking today from Ballymun, Cllr Reilly said:

“Dublin City Council is carrying out a housing needs assessment for 2016.  It is vitally important that all those on the Housing List fill the questionnaire in and send it back to Dublin City Council.

“I have come across so many families who for one reason or another never received the form back when the last assessment was carried out in 2011 or it got lost in the post and the council then removed them of the housing list.

“Families as long as ten years waiting were then forced to start again.

“I cannot stress the importance of sending this form in.

“The assessment is also an opportunity for the Council to ensure that they have an accurate number of people on the housing waiting list and that all information is up to date.

“Personally, I believe Dublin City Council should send these by registered post.  I know that comes at an additional cost but I believe it would be worth it in the long run.

“Some families move address and do not get the forms and all their time served on the list is wasted.”
