Strong Sinn Féin team to visit Killag Show
Speaking in advance of the Bannow & Rathangan Show in Killag, Co Wexford on Thursday, Martin Kenny TD, Sinn Féin spokesperson for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, said that his priorities for rural Ireland included job creation, adequate farm incomes and planning for the huge threat that Brexit presents.
Deputy Kenny said:
“The Sinn Féin team in Leinster House is committed to defending rural Ireland and reversing the decline provoked by years of austerity policies.
“Sinn Féin introduced the Rural Equality Bill in the Dáil to ensure that all government departments would take rural areas into account when implementing measures.
“The provision of high speed broadband is essential for the development of rural Ireland and is just one of the commitments which Sinn Féin would make in government.
“This week, accompanied by Martin Ferris TD, Kathleen Funchion TD, Liadh Ní Riada MEP, Cllr Johnny Mythen and staff, we will be in Wexford to engage with people there about their experiences living in the South East and their vision for the future.”
