Best interests of business community will not be served by leaving EU - Anderson
Sinn Féin MEP Martina Anderson has said the best interests of the business community will not be served by leaving the European Union.
Speaking after the publication of a report from the CBI on the EU referendum, Ms Anderson said;
"This report from the CBI on the EU referendum says that business requires continued access to the single market, continued flow of workers across Europe and protection of EU funding.
"The best way to achieve these is to remain in the EU and that is exactly that the people of the North voted for. That vote must be respected.
"The best interests of the business community will certainly not be served by the North being dragged out of the EU because of votes from England.
"The continued development of the all-Ireland economy, with all of Ireland within the EU, will benefit the business community and workers rights.
"The business community now need to work with political parties and others across society to ensure the democratic people of the north are recognised."
