Shots fired while children play

2 September, 2016 - by Janice Boylan

Dublin Sinn Féin Councillor Janice Boylan has condemned the criminal elements behind the latest shots fired in Drumalee Estate.

Councillor Boylan, a local resident in Drumalee, said the North West Inner City needs to be included in the catchment area for the new North Inner City Taskforce.

She said;

“Shots where fired from a car this afternoon yards away from where young children played. This type of criminal activity is happening too often and people are getting very scared. Gardai have been present in Drumalee for the last number of weeks and it is shocking to think that these criminals still went ahead a fired at least six shots into a house.

“The scene was chaotic with worried parents running out of their homes to gather up their children who where playing near by.

“We need to tackle this crime seriously and quickly it is spiralling out of control.

“I have attended the North Inner City Taskforce meetings and I said from the beginning that the catchment area needs to include the north west inner city too. Maybe the government will listen now after this afternoons events.”
