Brexit legal challenge to protect rights of majority who voted remain - O'Dowd
Sinn Féin MLA John O'Dowd has said the legal challenge launched today in the High Court in Belfast is to protect rights of the majority of people in the North who voted to remain in the EU.
Speaking at the launch of a court challenge to Brexit, Mr O'Dowd said;
"Today's court challenge is about protecting the rights of the majority of people of the North who voted to remain in the EU.
"The people of the North made it clear at the polls that they want to stay in the EU and that vote must be respected.
"This case, which has been brought jointly by a coalition of political parties, community and human rights groups is one of the most important constitutional cases for decades.
"It is the first step in the process to ensure the rights of the people of the North are recognised and respected."
