British government must release funding for legacy inquests - McCann
Sinn Féin MLA Jennifer McCann has said the British government must release funding for legacy inquests.
The Sinn Féin legacy spokesperson said;
"Today families of people killed during the conflict have announced their intention to bring a legal challenge over the British government's failure to provide funding for legacy inquests.
"All relatives are entitled to truth and it is unacceptable that some have been waiting for more than 45 years at this stage.
"The British government have a responsibility to address the legacy of the past, including providing funding for legacy inquests, and it is a sign of its failure to do so that the families have been forced to mount this challenge.
"The British government now needs to release the funding for inquests immediately in order to give these and other families access to truth and justice."
