GARC should cancel evening parade – Kelly

29 September, 2016 - by Gerry Kelly

Sinn Féin MLA Gerry Kelly said tonight the Greater Ardoyne Residents Collective (GARC) should cancel plans for a parade in Ardoyne tomorrow night.

The North Belfast MLA was commenting after the Parades Commission tonight ruled on a parade and protest in the area.

Gerry Kelly said:

“It is Sinn Féin’s view we need less evening parades in this area, not more.

“GARC planned this march in opposition to the agreement between the Crumlin Ardoyne Residents Association (CARA) and the three local Orange lodges.

“If GARC genuinely had the interests of this community at heart they would cancel the parade immediately.”
