Gerry Adams TD extends condolences to family of Martin Naughton
Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams TD has expressed his “deepest sympathies and condolences to the family and many friends Disability Rights activist Martin Naughton”.
Gerry Adams said:
“Martin was an extraordinary human being. He was hugely respected and was an example to all of us of the importance of inclusivity and equality for all citizens in society.
"He was a formidable and tireless campaigner for disability rights and a gifted and courageous activist. He contributed enormously to reshaping the public narrative, as well as government policy on the rights of citizens with disabilities.
"Our task must be to complete his work and to ensure that disabled citizens are able to achieve their full rights and entitlements as human beings.
"I want to extend my deepest sympathies and condolences to his family and to his many friends.
"Go ndeanfaidh dia trocaire ar a n’anam dílis."
