UUP need to get with the programme on health – Seeley
Sinn Féin MLA and health spokesperson, Catherine Seeley, has said the UUP are playing catch up on health after they claimed today to have revealed figures for locum and agency staff weeks after they were publicised in the Bengoa report.
Speaking today Ms Seeley said:
“The Health Minister has stated clearly that she wants see a health and social care system which is efficient and sustainable and where best practice is the norm.
“For the UUP to claim they have uncovered the current costs of locums and agency staff raises serious questions about the UUP’s commitment to our health service.
“You have to ask what planet they are living on.
“These figures and more were published weeks ago in the Bengoa report. The only thing the UUP have revealed is that they have yet to read the most significant report on health in decades.
“The UUP need to stop dilly dallying on health and support Michelle O’Neill and the Executive on its transformative long term plan aimed at making our health service one that delivers best outcomes for all.”
