South Dublin County Council motion concerning Philip Cairns investigation welcome – Cllr. Enda Fanning
Sinn Féin Councillor for the Terenure –Templeogue area Enda Fanning has welcomed the unanimous passing of his motion concerning Philip Cairns at a meeting of South Dublin County Council.
The motion passed referred to the recent thirtieth anniversary of Philip’s disappearance, empathised with the Cairns family and urged those with any information to contact the Gardaí.
The motion also urged the Gardaí to follow up on all leads, many of which are being openly discussed on social media.
Speaking after the passing of his motion, Cllr. Fanning said:
“I recently attended the Justice for Philip Cairns rally in Rathfarnham where a large number of people gathered to remember Philip on the thirtieth anniversary of his disappearance. A petition was also handed in to Rathfarnham Garda station after that gathering.
“I am aware that there has been a growing interest in Philip’s disappearance in recent times and many suggested leads connected to his disappearance are being openly discussed through various social media outlets.
“South Dublin County Council has now urged the Gardaí follow up on all such leads and I hope the Gardaí to do so as a matter of urgency.”
