Munster pursues delivery of Ardee Bypass
Sinn Féin TD Imelda Munster has again raised the issue of the Ardee Bypass with officials from the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport, and the TII at a Transport Committee meeting this morning.
Deputy Munster asked why the funding has not yet been made available for construction given that the land has already been purchased.
Deputy Munster said:
“The link road is just 3.5 km long and it's a shovel ready scheme, yet the government have still not included it in their capital investment programme. It is simply not good enough for the government to not prioritise this link road given the daily congestion in Ardee.
In response to Deputy Munster, an official from TII gave a commitment to submit the project to the department's midterm review plan for funding to be allocated in the capital investment program.
“I fully intend to pursue this matter until the project is completed.”
