Vital to plan infrastructure projects on all-Ireland basis - McAleer
Sinn Féin MLA Declan McAleer has said it is vital to plan for infrastructure upgrades and developments on an all-Ireland basis.
The Sinn Féin Infrastructure spokesperson said;
"I welcome today's meeting between my party colleague and Infrastructure Minister Chris Hazzard and the Irish government's transport minister Shane Ross to discuss all-Ireland cooperation on infrastructure matters.
"They discussed key all-Ireland infrastructure projects including the A5 and I was pleased that Shane Ross restated his government's commitment to provide £75m for the project which will get underway in 2017.
"Recently a joint report from IBEC and the CBI called for an all-Ireland transport strategy and the need to prepare for a prosperous island of ten million people.
"This latest engagement with the ministers north and south is a welcome part of the planning for an effective, modern, 21st Century infrastructure network."
