Archibald welcomes £475,000 junction improvement scheme in Limavady
Sinn Féin MLA Caoimhe Archibald has welcomed the announcement by the Infrastructure Minister of a £475,000 junction improvement scheme in Limavady.
The East Derry MLA said:
"Local people have been calling for this dangerous junction to be addressed. So I am glad my party colleague and Infrastructure Minister Chris Hazzard has announced the start of a £475,000 scheme to improve the junction at the Broad Road and Greystone Road in Limavady with the construction of a roundabout.
"The scheme will also include resurfacing works on the A37 extending from its junction with Drumsurn Road for a distance of approximately 750 metres towards the junction with Rathmore Road.
"The work will greatly improve safety for all road users at this junction while reducing traffic conflict and delays at peak times and the resurfacing works will improve the carriageway surface and reduce routine maintenance costs.
"Work on the scheme will start mid January with its completion planned for the end of April 2017 and motorists should expect some delays and allow additional time for travel."
