Christmas message from Sinn Féin Health Minister Michelle O’Neill
Health Minister Michelle O’Neill thanks staff for their hard work throughout 2016.
Michelle O’Neill said:
"As we approach the end of 2016, I would take the opportunity to thank all staff working across the health and social care sector (HSC), the Ambulance and Fire Services for your continued hard work, professionalism and dedication.
"I am under no illusion about the pressures that you work under, and yet I have seen at first hand on many occasions the expert care and compassion you show in the face of often difficult circumstances.
“I am proud of our health service and we have a lot to be thankful for. I know that, while many people will be relaxing at home with their families over the Christmas period, thousands of doctors, nurses, paramedics, fire fighters and vital support staff across the HSC will be at work, caring for patients, supporting families and saving lives. I want to thank all staff for their commitment and dedication.
“As we look forward to 2017, there is no doubt we will face challenges. However, I look forward to working with you in addressing these challenges in 2017.
“I wish you all a very happy Christmas and peaceful New Year.”
