Seeley appeals for information following serious sexual assault

Sinn Féin MLA Catherine Seeley is appealing for people to bring forward information to the police on a serious sexual assault on December 8th at approximately 6.30pm in a layby in the Tannaghmore North Road, Lurgan.

She said:

"Following the assault on a woman in a layby in the Tannaghmore North Road area of Lurgan at approximately 6.30pm on Thursday, December 8 detectives are appealing for information.

“The attacker is described as being between 30 to 40 years, with a beard and with a local accent. He was over 5’5” tall and was wearing a dark hoody and dark trousers.

“Anyone with any information – no matter how insignificant it may appear – should contact Detectives at the Rape Crime Unit on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 452 03/01/17.

“We must ensure the attacker is taken off the streets and faces the full force of the law.

“Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
