Ní Chuilín calls on Nesbitt to state if he will back Irish language act
Sinn Féin's Carál Ní Chuilín has challenged UUP leader Mike Nesbitt to state unambiguously whether his party will back an Irish language act.
Ms Ní Chuilín said;
"Mike Nesbitt has said in the past that Sinn Féin's just demand for an Irish language act was an act of bad faith.
"Despite being challenged, Mike Nesbitt and the UUP have yet to state their position on an Irish language act.
"Now is the time for Mike Nesbitt to come out once and for all and state clearly and unambiguously whether or not he and his party will support an Irish language act.
"It is a simple question and requires a simple answer. Is he prepared to back legislation to guarantee rights and equality or is he not?"
