Government should stop prevaricating and give go ahead for second terminal

12 May, 2005

Sinn Féin spokesperson on Transport, Seán Crowe TD has said that the issue of the second terminal at Dublin Airport "should now be put to bed." Deputy Crowe said, "The Government should stop prevaricating and give the go ahead for the Dublin Airport Authority to start developing the second terminal."

Speaking at Leinster House today he said, "Today the Minister for Transport, Martin Cullen insisted that there was no example anywhere in the world of competing terminals at the same airport making the case for the Dublin Airport Authority to build and run the second terminal at Dublin Airport. Sinn Féin agrees with the case he made.

"This issue should now be put to bed. The Government should stop their prevaricating and give the go ahead for the Dublin Airport Authority to begin the development of the new terminal. The travelling public and the business community need this new terminal. It should not be held up anymore by the privatisation agenda of the PD‚s and their like-minded friends such as Michael O'Leary."ENDS
