Maurice Quinlivan TD welcomes jobs announcement for County Limerick
Sinn Féin TD and Spokesperson for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Maurice Quinlivan has welcomed the announcement today of 300 new jobs for Adare Manor hotel and Golf Resort in Co Limerick.
Recruitment for positions in management, catering, hotel and spa staff is to begin in the coming months.
Deputy Quinlivan said;
‘These jobs constitute a vote of confidence in County Limerick and in the Mid-West region as a whole, and we must do more to continue to attract more jobs and investment to this part of the country.
“This expansion will bring the overall number of staff to 350, in addition to over 600 jobs during the resort’s refurbishment works, which is a huge boost for the area.
“The Adare Manor hotel and golf resort is a fantastic asset to County Limerick and we look forward to its growth and success in the coming years.”
“The restoration works on the Manor are particularly welcome, preserving our heritage while also creating jobs and providing for a world class facility. “
“This investment will allow Limerick to host world class events and we look forward to the JP McManus Invitational Pro-Am in 2020 and potentially the Ryder Cup in 2026.”
“The reality is that we still have a high unemployment rate, and a particularly alarming youth and long-term unemployment rate, and more must be done to help these groups. The government needs to commit to securing more jobs like this for areas outside of Dublin.’
