Dublin City Council reaffirms commitment to Dublin Fire Brigade
Dublin City Councillor and Member of the Fire Services Special policy committee Noeleen Reilly is calling on Dublin City Council to cease all plans to break up the Dublin Fire Brigade and reengage in talks with the service.
Speaking at a rally at Dublin City Hall organised by the Dublin Fire Brigade,
“Firstly I want to commend the Dublin Fire Brigade and their families for their campaign to highlight DCC management’s attempt to dismantle the service by removing the emergency call service.
Unfortunately it appears that Dublin City Council is not listening to anyone on this.
The Dublin Fire Brigade is a hugely successful service and saved countless of lives every year.
They have some of the best response times across Europe. It makes no sense why DCC would want to do anything that might jeopardise that.
The expert panel set up to look at this matter all agree that the pre hospital call centre should not be moved out to Tallaght.
If the Service isn’t broken then don’t fix.
Dublin City Council management need to reengage in talks to get this matter resolved in the interests of all the Citizens in Dublin.
