Taoiseach must respond to British Government’s lack of clarity on Brexit with action – Adams
Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams TD has welcomed Taoiseach Enda Kenny’s belated expression of impatience with the British Government over their clarity on Britain's future relationship with the EU.
This evening, he said:
“The Taoiseach’s belated response on the British Government’s lack of clarity in relation to Brexit is welcome, but he should have been voicing these concerns months ago.
“Sinn Féin have been saying for quite some time now that the Taoiseach needed to adopt a firmer approach with the British Government, such is their insistence on dragging the north out of the EU and their complete disregard for the impact of their decisions on the island of Ireland.
“The Taoiseach now needs to follow his words with action and demand, at European level, a special designated status for the north within the EU.”
