Munster expresses concern at Coca-Cola job losses
Sinn Féin TD for Louth and East Meath Imelda Munster has described reports that 50 jobs could be lost at Coca-Cola’s Drogheda plant as a devastating blow for the employees, their families, and the local area. These reports have come out of the blue from Coca-Cola who employ 200 at their Drogheda facility in a range of support functions for the company’s European operations.
Deputy Munster said:
“I have contacted the Department for Jobs to seek confirmation on the reports and has requested that Minister Mitchell O’Connor immediately intervene in an effort to protect and retain what amounts to be the jobs of a quarter of the workforce. This locality has seen very little in the way of investment and jobs and it is vital that every effort is made to retain the jobs we do have.”
