McDonald to hold public meeting on the future of local postal services
Sinn Féin deputy leader Mary Lou McDonald TD has expressed her concern for the future of Post Offices in Dublin Central as the Government consider the findings of the Kerr report.
Deputy McDonald said:
“Post Offices are central to our community. They provide essential services for pensioners, mothers collecting child benefit, for those collecting welfare payments and of course for general postal services.
“As the Government considers the findings of the recent Kerr report, there is genuine concern that our local post offices will be closed. Such closures would strike at the very heart of our community.
“Sinn Féin is determined to protect our post offices and I will defend the essential services which they provide to our local communities. I am holding a public meeting on Monday 27thMarch at 8pm in Christ the Kings in Cabra and I am urging all those concerned for the future of our post offices to attend.”
