Sinn Féin seeking large anti-Brexit vote - McElduff

8 May, 2017 - by Barry McElduff

Sinn Féin's Barry McElduff has said Sinn Féin is seeking a large anti-Brexit vote in West Tyrone.

The West Tyrone candidate said:

"The people of West Tyrone voted overwhelmingly to remain in the European Union last year, just as they have voted at successive Westminster elections to be represented by Sinn Féin.

"I am proud and honoured to be putting myself before the electorate of West Tyrone for Sinn Féin in the upcoming Westminster election and we are determined to hold the seat.

"My colleague Michelle Gildernew in the neighbouring constituency of Fermanagh/South Tyrone is also seeking to maximise the anti-Brexit, pro-equality vote and regain the seat from the pro-Brexit, Tory-supporting Tom Elliot.

"Sinn Féin will continue to provide first-class public representation to everyone in the community if elected on June 8.

"The election offers people the opportunity to send a clear message to Theresa May that we don't want Brexit, we don't want borders and we don't want Tory cuts. The best way to do that is to vote Sinn Féin."
