McVeigh to attend the Danish Red-Green Alliance conference
Sinn Féin councillor Jim McVeigh will travel to Copenhagen next week to attend the Danish Red-Green Alliance annual conference.
The conference will also be attended by delegates from the Basque Country, France, Portugal, Germany, Spain, Galicia, Sweden, Colombia and the Western Sahara.
Councillor McVeigh said:
"Attending the Red-Green Alliance conference provides an opportunity to listen to other delegates in Europe and throughout the international community. It also presents an opportunity for Sinn Féin to provide an analysis of the current situation in Ireland.
"I will brief the representatives and international guests on the most pressing current issues facing the people of Ireland including Brexit, the on-going negotiations in the North, the upcoming Westminster elections and the Uniting Ireland campaign.
"Sinn Féin continues to build relationships with like-minded, progressive, modern, parties of the left in an attempt to build a more democratic and just society.
"Our attendance at the Red-Green Alliance conference this weekend is a further example of our commitment to building a more equal Ireland in a more equal Europe."
