NAMA’s assets must be secured until Commission of Investigation completes it’s work - Pearse Doherty TD
Sinn Fein Finance spokesperson Pearse Doherty has welcomed the publication of the Terms of Reference for the Commission of Investigation into the sale of NAMA’s Project Eagle.
“Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil resisted this Commission of Investigation for a long time. The reality is that they had to be dragged kicking and screaming to this position.
“However, I welcome the publication today of the terms of reference for the Commission of Investigation and look forward to debating them in the Dáil.
“Even at this late stage the government needs to direct NAMA to cease selling assets until such time as this Commission of Investigation has completed its work.
“The assets of the state need to be protected and with billions of euros worth of assets still held by NAMA it is vitally important that these assets are secured.”
