Sinn Féin standing for equality, for rights and Irish unity – O’Neill
Sinn Féin MLA Michelle O’Neill said today that her party’s candidates will be standing firm against the Tory Brexit and cuts agenda in the Westminster election and standing for rights, equality and Irish unity.
The Sinn Féin leader in the north was speaking as a number of party candidates handed in their nomination papers to fight the election on June 8th.
Michelle O’Neill said:
“We are here in Newtownabbey to nominate our candidates for the upcoming Westminster campaign.
“Sinn Féin has a strong team of candidates who are going to go out and stand very firmly against the Tory Brexit and cuts agenda.
“This is a self-serving election for the Tories who are only interested in their own selfish party interest.
“They have disregarded the people here in the north of Ireland who clearly voted to stay within the European Union.
“Sinn Féin’s campaign in this election is about standing firm against the Tories, standing firm against Tory cuts, standing firm against the Brexit agenda and standing up for people’s rights, equality and Irish unity.”
