Sinn Féin to host major conference on proposed EU Constitution this weekend

Sinn Féin MEP Mary Lou McDonald has invited all those interested in finding out more about the proposed EU Constitution to attend a two day conference this weekend in the Irish Film Institute in Temple Bar, Dublin. The two day conference will bring together academics, trade unionists, NGOs and MEPS from across the EU to examine the content and implications of the Constitution and is open to the public.

Speaking today Mary Lou McDonald MEPs said:

"In the coming months the people of Ireland will be asked to vote on the proposed EU Constitution and it is crucial that there is a full and open debate on the consequences that this constitution will have for Ireland and the European Union. This weekend Sinn Féin is hosting a major conference with our partners in the European Parliament, European United Left/Nordic Green Left. Our intention is to promote and provoke debate as early as possible." ENDS
