Sale of LÉ Aisling to be raised at PAC by Cullinane
Sinn Féin TD and member of the Public Accounts Committee David Cullinane has expressed his disquiet at the media reports regarding the sale of the Irish navy ship, LÉ Aisling.
Deputy Cullinane said:
“Once again, we have reports coming in of state property being sold off at what appears to be bargain basement prices.
“We had this in January with the sale of the government jet and here we are again.
“I will be raising this issue at the next meeting of the Public Accounts Committee, along with the concerns of PDFORRA that a higher reserve price was not set.
“We need to establish whether the state got a fair price from the deal.”
