Traumatic road tragedy requires reflection on cost of car crime
Sinn Féin South Belfast MLA Alex Maskey commenting on the death of one young man and serious injury to a number of other young men in an accident involving a stolen car the on Boucher Road last night has said that the incident requires reflection on the cost of car crime.
Mr Maskey said:
"This tragic accident has left one young man dead, another two seriously injured and number of other young people also injured.
"This is traumatic for the families of those injured and killed in this accident, it is traumatic for the family who had their car stolen and it is also traumatic for all of the families who have been bereaved through car crime.
"This death, like the countless other deaths caused by car crime require that as a society we reflect on the cost of car crime, on the causes of car crime and about how we challenge and put a stop to this pattern of anti-social behaviour that has such tragic consequences." ENDS
