An Garda Síochána should investigate St John of God secret payments – Adams

2 June, 2017 - by Gerry Adams

Sinn Féin President and Louth TD Gerry Adams has expressed his deep concern at a HSE audit report into St John of God Services which has found serious evidence of secret payments to senior managers.

Gerry Adams said:

“While St. John of God has consistently failed to deliver the quality care it is supposed to, especially for citizens with disabilities, it has been secretly paying its senior management huge sums of money in a flagrant breach of the rules for public sector pay.

“The failure of the St John of God organisation to comply with public pay policy for 30 years is a scandal.

“An Garda Síochána should now be asked by the HSE to investigate the St John of God payments to senior managers.”
