Defending agreements and public services is Sinn Féin’s priority – McCallion
Commenting on the ongoing talks between the DUP and the Tory Party, Sinn Féin MP Elisha McCallion said:
“We have yet to see any detail of the discussions between the DUP and Tories.
“But what we do know is that our Executive’s budget and our public services have been systematically slashed by £1 billion as a result of Tory cuts over the past seven years.
“Defending the Good Friday Agreement, protecting our public services and establishing an Executive based on equality and respect are Sinn Féin’s priorities.
“This can only be achieved through the Stormont talks, not a bi-lateral DUP-Tory partnership which is primarily aimed at propping up Theresa May’s ailing government and the right-wing agenda that will accompany it.”
