Kelly calls for North Belfast threats to be lifted

14 June, 2017 - by Gerry Kelly

Sinn Féin MLA Gerry Kelly has called for threats against almost 50 people in north Belfast to be lifted immediately.

Gerry Kelly said:

"A list containing threats against almost 50 people, made by some unnamed organisation, has been circulating in the public arena in northern Belfast.

"Many people whose names appear on the list have been visited by the PSNI to make them aware of the threats.

"I condemn the fact that threats have been issued against these people.

"I have been contacted by mental health professionals who have made me aware that quite a number of those who have received these deplorable threats are vulnerable individuals.

"No one should be subject to these kind of threats in this day and age.

"These threats should be lifted immediately and those responsible need to stop these actions."
