GCSE results testament to commitment of students and teachers - Mullan
Sinn Féin Education Spokesperson Karen Mullan has said that the sterling GCSE results gained by local students shows the commitment of students and teachers and the strength of our education system.
The Foyle MLA said:
"Local students receiving GCSE’s have performed better than their English and Welsh counterparts.
"The sterling performance of these young people is to be congratulated and celebrated. It also shows the commitment of student and teachers and the strength of our Education system.
"Local exam results steadily improve year on year, and credit must be paid to three successive Sinn Féin Education Ministers for their work in developing our education system.
"The fact that this has been achieved in a context of relentless Tory austerity speaks volumes of the efforts of teachers and public sector staff.
"Our young people prosper through the work of our teachers, carers and parents, and through their own strength and commitment to their studies. This should be commended."
