Councillor Liam Mackle welcomes Peace IV funding
Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council has secured funding under the European Union's Peace IV funding scheme.
Councillor Liam Mackle said:
"This injection of funding into the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon area of almost £5 million is a welcome boost.
"It will help fund a number of projects across the three themes of children and young people, shared spaces and building positive relations. Local groups will be able to access funds through grants.
"This is a timely reminder of the important role the EU has played in securing peace here in the north.
"Those who have supported Brexit have put this type of important funding at risk. The EU has proved a vital source of funding for local projects for many many years.
"Local people across all areas of Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon will see the benefits of this new programme but sadly this may well be for the final time."
