Imelda Munster TD urges road safety message on “European Day without a Road Death”
As today marks “European Day without a Road Death” across the European Union, Sinn Féin Spokesperson for Transport Imelda Munster TD has urged people to have road safety to the forefront of their minds as they take to the roads.
Deputy Munster said:
“At least 110 people have been killed on our roads so far this year, and 70 people die every day on Europe’s roads. These figures don’t include people who suffer life-altering injuries through road traffic collisions.
"Each road death causes untold misery and suffering for the families of victims.
“Today’s campaign is to heighten awareness of the dangers faced daily by road users. Road safety is paramount.
"One life lost on our roads is one too many, and we all have to work to reduce these shocking numbers.”
