Sinn Féin raise paramilitary activity in Larne with Assistant Chief Constable
A Sinn Féin delegation including Linda Dillon, Gerry Kelly and Oliver McMullan met with the Assistant Chief Constable today to discuss our ongoing concerns surrounding paramilitary involvement in the recent attacks in Larne.
Oliver McMullan said:
“We raised the ongoing criminality in the area and the involvement of loyalist paramilitaries in attacks on property, homes and people.
“There needs to be a sustained policing effort to tackle the scourge of paramilitary intimidation and violence and its effect on public confidence.
“While we acknowledge the PSNI have been more proactive of late in dealing with these activities we impress upon them the requirement for a sustained and visible response in order to restore and develop public confidence in the service."
