Ferris reiterates call for release of Rossport 5
Sinn Féin Spokesperson on Natural Resources Martin Ferris TD, has reiterated Sinn Féin's demand that the five men being held in prison on foot of their protest against the Corrib gas pipeline be immediately released. Deputy Ferris was speaking following this morning's court appearance during three of the men had proceedings relating to the blocking of a road lifted. However, the five remain in prison.
Deputy Ferris said: "The unprecedented wave of support for the five Rossport men has clearly had its effect. The Government must respond to this by immediately releasing the men, and lifting the injunctions against others involved. They must also act on the concerns of the Rossport protestors and many others for a complete review of all aspects of the Corrib development." ENDS
