Sinn Féin - On Your Side

Achaini á eagrú ag Sinn Féin do Chúigear Rossport

1 July, 2005

D'iarr an Comhairleoir Daniel Callanan ó Shinn Féin ar Shell inniu, gach cuid dá chás cúirte i gcoinne fheirmeoiri Mhuigh Eo a chur ar ceal go dti go dtaispeántar teastais slándála agus torthai d'fhiosrúchán neamhspleách ar cheisteanna sláinte maidir le piopai Shell.

"Tá sé dochreidte gur féidir daoine a chur i bpriosún mar gheall go gcuirea nn said i gcoinne phiopai curtha ar a dtalamh féin agus taobh istigh de céad slat óna dtithe féin. Seo fianaise ri-shoileir de chomhlacht ollmhór idirnáisiúnta ar imirt cos ar bholg ar chearta an ghnáthdhuine", dar le Callanan.

Is mór an t-ábhar misnigh é, daoine mar seo a bheith ag seasamh an fhóid ar son a gcearta.

Beidh achaini (petition??) ag Sinn Féin ag barr Shraid na gCeannai i nGaillimh maidin amárach ó 11rn go 2in. "Iarraim ar an bpobal seasamh taobh linn, ar son saoirse agus cearta Chúigear Iorrais (Rossport?), daoine nach bhfuil uathu ag a mbunchearta", arsa Callanan.

SINN FEIN ORGANIZING PETITION TO FREE ROSSPORT 5

Sinn Fein Cllr. Daniel Callanan has called for Shell to drop all proceedings against the five farmers from Rossport pending production of the safety certificates and an independent enquiry into the health and safety issues surrounding the Shell pipeline.

"It is unbelievable that people can be jailed for protesting about a gas pipeline been laid on their land and within less than 100 metres of their home.  There is clear evidence of bullyboy tactics been used by a large foreign multinational to trample on the rights of ordinary people.

It is heartening to see people take a stand for their rights despite the odds.

This Saturday Sinn Fein will have a stall on top of Shop Street from 11-2pm collecting a petition to free immediately the Rossport 5.  I would urge everybody to support the campaign to release these innocent people who are merely fighting for their rights.
