Sinn Féin to hold Brexit protests across north - Finucane
Sinn Féin’s John Finucane has called for support for a rally in support of designated special status for the north within the EU at the Andersonstown Barracks site tomorrow night at 7pm.
A mural will also be unveiled on the old Barracks site.
John Finucane said:
“Sinn Féin is holding a number of protests and demonstrations across the north starting tomorrow night in Belfast in support of designated special status for the north within the EU.
“The north voted to remain within the EU and that mandate must be respected and acted upon.
“The DUP are now demanding that we set aside the possibility of a special deal for the north on the basis of the nonsense that the north is as British as Finchley.
“The only guarantee of stability and certainty that will deliver the full protection of the Good Friday Agreement in all its parts - including Irish citizenship and the benefits of EU citizenship is for the north to remain within the EU, including the Customs Union and the single market.
“This is a common sense, practical and achievable approach that we will continue to work to achieve in Belfast, in Dublin, in London and in Europe.”
