Union recognition by Ryanair gives cautious progress for negotiations – Imelda Munster TD
Sinn Féin Transport Spokesperson Imelda Munster TD has cautiously welcomed the news that Ryanair intends to recognise unions for collective bargaining purposes.
Deputy Munster said:
“I hope that Ryanair are entering into talks in good faith and that the strike action planned for next Wednesday can be called off.
“I am glad that Ryanair has decided to come into the 21st century and recognise the rights of their employees to join a union and to union-led negotiation.
“I hope that talks will commence in the near future to allow both parties to come to an arrangement.
“I would like to see cabin crew and other employees given the same rights as those promised to the pilots, and I hope that this is the beginning of a policy of normalising working contracts and conditions across the company."
